Research

My principal research responsibilities are in the area of forest entomology. This research includes studies in insect-plant interactions, ecology, behavior, physiology, and biological control of forest insect pests. This multidisciplinary approach helps assist in the development of new IPM tactics and strategies. I concentrate on important pests in Virginia that impact commercial forest ecosystems, non-commercial, yet unique forest ecosystems, and Christmas tree production.
