| ANTS are 1/8 to 1/2 inch or 3 to 12 mm long and can be black, red, yellow, brown, or tan. They have a thin waist and the hind wings are smaller then the front. | TERMITES are 1/8 to 3/16 inch or 3 or 4 mm in length. They do not have a thin waist, the body is the same width its whole length and the wings are of equal size. The name for the Order that includes termites is named Isoptera which means equal wing. |
